In the left eye, dilated fundus examination (D) also displayed significant macular thickening and dot hemorrhages. Visual acuity in this eye, however, was 20/400. Fluorescein angiography (E) demonstrated diffuse late leakage consistent with macular edema.
Radial OCT sections (F) of the left eye revealed a striking cyst in the central macula which occupied the entire thickness of the retina. Several smaller cysts and diffuse macular thickening were noted in the surrounding retina. The foveal thickness was measured to be 720 |im.
