Immunosuppression

Immunosuppression is based on either cyclosporine (CsA) or FK506. Children received either polyclonal (ATGAM 10 - 20 mg/kg/day for up to 14 days post transplant) or monoclonal [OKT3 (for less than <30 kg 2.5 mg/day and for >30 kg 5 mg/day give for 7 to14 days) or daclizumab (12 mg per meter squared with maximum of 20 mg/dose given on the day of transplant and on postoperative day 4)] antibody preparations as induction-type therapy.
