Although NHL is the second most com mon cancer of the oral cavity, it only accounts for 3.5% of all oral malignancies {683}. NHL of the oral cavity and oropharynx account for 13% of all primary extranodal NHL, with approximately 70% of these occurring in the tonsils {809}. They affect patients over a wide age range (including children), but most patients are in the 6th and 7th decades. Burkitt lymphomas occur predominantly in children and young adults. Patients with an underlying immunodeficiency state (e.g. HIV Infection) are also usually younger.
