Symptoms Scores

In 1997, O'Leary et al.30 developed a questionnaire specifically to assess IC patients. The questionnaire is composed of two sections, including symptoms and problem indices. The maximum scores are 20 and 16, respectively. A second questionnaire, the University of Wisconsin IC Scale (UW-ICS), includes 7 points,with a 0 (not at all) to 6 (a lot) rating scale. The summated scale ranges from 0 to 42.31 Both questionnaires are validated and either can be given to the IC patient for quantitative evaluation of their symptoms during the course of treatment. We evaluate our patients with the O'Leary questionnaire.
