Sporulated oocysts are 11 x 13^m in diameter and each sporulated oocyst contains two ellipsoidal sporocysts, which measure 6 x 8^m each. Each sporocyst contains four sporozoites, which are 2 x 6-8^m in size. Ultrastructurally the sporozoite is similar to the tachyzoite, except that there is an abundance of micronemes and rhoptries in the former. There is no crystalloid body, nor are there any refractile bodies in the sporozoites, which are found in conventional coccidian sporozoites (Dubey 1993).
