Hip Strategy

■ The hip type of strategy tends to be used more often with larger postural perturbations, or during standing on a soft surface, or when the area available for base of support is small

■ There is some evidence to suggest also that vestibular input is needed for a hip strategy. Preferential use of a hip strategy is common in the elderly
