ECG monitoring

Continuous ECG monitoring is routine in every intensive care unit. The standard technique ECG (commonly lead II). Other limb leads may be used although the electrodes are placed side of the abdomen. Other lead configurations can be used for specific purposes:

P wave monitoring

Modern, continuous monitors include alarm functions for bradycardia and tachycardia monitoring, and software routines for arrhythmia detection or ST segment analysis.
