Consistency

One of the reasons why those with personality disorders create so many problems in therapy is that they are able to detect and exploit inconsistency in their treatment. Often this is merely a way of deflecting attention away from fundamental problems associated with the personality disorder, but they are nonetheless effective in creating a screen that prevents other issues from being addressed. Clearly the fewer the people involved in care, the less are the chances of creating inconsistency, and keeping the number of main workers down to two or three is a sound goal.
