Supportive transfusion in symptomatic patients; coexistent Fe deficiency should be excluded and treated. Minority may be suitable for/responsive 51 to erythropoietin therapy.

Bleeding and iron deficiency

Usually secondary to use of NSAIDs—consider and exclude other causes of blood loss which may occur in this patient group.
