Enteral tube feeding can be continuous, intermittent or overnight. The method chosen will depend on a number of factors and should be determined in conjunction with the management goals of the clinical team.
Once the regimen has been decided the type of enteral tube feed needs to be selected. The choice of feed should be individualised and based on the nutritional and fluid requirements.
