Much work needs to be done on the characterization of novel P450s in the brain as well as on the regulation and localization of the known forms before the importance of P450 in the brain becomes clear. All evidence indicates that P450 in the brain is most likely playing some important roles in brain physiology and toxicology. We conclude this chapter with the hope that more investigators will be stimulated by the challenges rather than daunted by the difficulties of pursuing some of the issues raised in this summary.
