Variant name: Veado branco (Portuguese, "white deer").

Physical description: Somewhere in size between the two known species, the Red brocket deer (Mazama americana) and the Gray brocket deer (M. gouazoubira).

Distribution: Rio Aripuana, Mato Grosso State, Brazil.

Significant sighting: Marc van Roosmalen heard reports of this deer in 2000.

P^ossible explanation: A regional variation of the gray brocket deer, which has a white belly in the north of its range and a gray belly in the south.
