Etymology: Tibetan (Sino-Tibetan), "mountain man," ri ("mountain") + mi ("man").
Physical description: Black hair. Height, 7-9 feet. Big teeth. Flaming eyes.
Behavior: Eats roots, vegetables, and fruits. Habitat: Altitudes of 10,000-13,000 feet. Distribution: Tibet; eastern Nepal. Significant sighting: Lama Chemed Rigdzin Dorje Lopu claimed to have seen two mummified Rimis in 1953, one in Racaka Monastery, Tibet.
