Mystery Invertebrate of eastern Canada.
Physical description: Similar to a lobster. Length, 1 foot. Fishlike eyes. Pincers are 3 inches long. Three pairs of legs. No joint ed, lobst er like t ail.
Distribution: Gander Lake and Swanger's Cove, Bay d'Espoir, Newfoundland.
Significant sightings: Seen at Gander Lake in the 1930s and at Swanger's Cove around 1952.
Possible explanation: Misidentified American lobster (Homarus americanus), found in Newfoundland wat ers.
