Flying reptle of Southern Europe.

Physical description: Batlike. Pelican-like beak. Fingerlike protrusions on the wings. Large claws.

Distribution: Crete.

Significant sighting: A flying reptile was seen in the summer of 1986 in the Asteroussia Mountains, near Pirgos, Crete, by three youths who were hunting. It was large and dark gray, with membranous wings that made a flapping noise as it flew over them slowly.
