Fruits and vegetables are readily available in developed countries and are a natural source of nutrients, fiber, and potent antioxidants. They have compounds with high antioxidant activity with the ability to retard LDL oxidation and with anticarcinogenic, antidiabetic, antimutagenic, and antimicrobial properties.
