Laboratory evaluation
A. Hemoglobin and hematocrit serve as an estimate of the RBC mass. Immediately after acute blood loss, the Hb will be normal.
B. Reticulocyte count reflects the rate of marrow production of RBCs. Absolute reticulocyte count = (% reticulocytes/100) x RBC count. An increase of reticulocytes to greater than 100,000/mm3 suggests a hyperproliferative bone marrow.
C. Mean corpuscular volume (MCV) often is used in classifying anemia (microcytic, normocytic, macrocytic).

Breaking Bulimia
We have all been there: turning to the refrigerator if feeling lonely or bored or indulging in seconds or thirds if strained. But if you suffer from bulimia, the from time to time urge to overeat is more like an obsession.
