This is an uncommon cause of supraventricular tachyarrhythmia, usually occurring in patients with underlying heart disease. The re-entry circuit is within the sinus node and so it will be identical to a sinus tachycardia. Vagal maneuvers may help to differentiate them ( Table 1). Sinus node re-entry tachycardia is sudden in onset and termination.
