Cisatracurium

This substance is one of the component isomers of atracurium, which is itself a racemate. The cardiovascular stability of cisatracurium is equal to that of atracurium and its propensity to release histamine seems to be less. It is approximately four times more potent than atracurium; therefore less is required to secure the same degree of block. This will result in a lower concentration of all metabolites. Clinical experience with cisatracurium in the ICU is limited, but early studies appear promising.
