Nongerm cell testicular tumours

These represent a very small proportion of testicular tumours. Stromal tumours such as those arising from Leydig cells are generally thought to be benign, but metastases have been reported in approximately 10% of cases. Unfortunately, pathological examination of the primary tumour does not give a good indication of the propensity to metastasize, making management difficult. It is reasonable to perform normal staging investigations and monitor such patients for about two years. Testicular lymphomas are the commonest testicular cancer in elderly men and should be treated along the same principles as lymphomas arising at other sites.
