The RSC for the donor OPO is responsible for arranging the recovery teams' transportation. Transportation may include charter aircraft, ambulances, or private cars. Arranging simultaneous arrival times for several teams can be complicated. Issues of concern when preparing for the recovery include the amount of time the liver surgeon takes for dissection and whether the pancreas is going to be recovered. The heart and/or lung team may choose to be at the donor hospital closer to cross-clamp time. They may also choose to arrive prior to the recovery time and perform a bronchoscopy in the ICU.
