Distinct Penicillium Species

The Penicillium genus is comprised of more than 200 fungal species playing important roles in biotechnology, health, and the environment. Within the whole Penicillium genus and closely related genera, P. marneffei is the only species in which dimorphism has been described and the most prominent Penicillium species found in human infections.
